On Monday morning, 29 September, formalities were completed in Piraeus, Greece, to sell Logos II. The vessel handover took place shortly after at the buyer’s facility in Turkey. Director of Marine Operations Mark Dimond remarked: “It is 20 years since the vessel was bought in Greece. This voyage from Gibraltar was significant – ‘back tracking’ the first ever passage for Logos II from Greece to Gibraltar almost exactly.” The handover of the ship marks the end of an era, with two decades of service spanning 350 port visits in 81 countries, and over 10 million visitors. The ship will now be scrapped, but with her replacement Logos Hope approaching launch into active service, a new era of ministry is about to begin!
